What is PRP?

PRP (platelet-rich therapy) is a popular non-surgical facial skin and hair rejuvenation procedure. PRP contains high levels of growth factors that encourage healthy cell regeneration. Utilising your blood platelets stimulates new cell growth, helps to improve your complexion, builds collagen, improves skin texture and restores facial volume. I

What can I expect during my treatment?

After a medical consultation, a numbing creme will be applied to the skin to increase your comfort. A small blood sample is taken and placed into a centrifuge which separates the plasma from the red blood cells leaving a "liquid gold" serum. The PRP is injected or needled into the skin or hair using our Dermpan 4 skin-needling device, which created micro channels into the skin to help infuse the serum into the skin.

Whom is PRP recommended for?

Everyone, PRP is suitable for all ages and anyone concerned with premature wrinkles, high levels of solar damage, and those who wish to even out their skin tone and tighten and freshen the appearance of their skin. At thirty,  existing collagen and elastin start to decline at 1 - 1.5% per year, leading to sagginess and skin laxity. PRP combined with micro-needling helps combat collagen loss by stimulating fibroblasts to rebuild the skin with growth factors found in the PRP.

Are there any side effects or complications?

The most common side effects are redness. As with any needle penetration to the skin, there is the risk of bruising and swelling. Some people experience mild flaking for 2-3 days of excessive dead skin.

What should I avoid before a PRP Vampire facial?

Before treatment, please stop taking blood-thinning medication or substances that influence platelet function and increase the risk of bruising. Avoid alcohol for at least 24hrs prior.

When can I see the results?

PRP is a dermal skin renewal process that requires time to rebuild itself. At three to four weeks, your skin will appear more radiant, hydrated, and tighter, with a more even complexion. The full effects of PRP typically appear at the end of your recommended course.
